Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Oxford .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

I enjoyed this event! I have never shot in b&w before so I took the class to explore the possibilities. It was amazing Stephen was an amazing teacher and it was a small group so we all had loads of time with him and his expertise. Would 100% take another class with him again.

Steve is a good leader and teacher, but different skill/knowledge levels in the group and different camera equipment requires him to often deal with individual needs rather than the group as a whole.

I had parked the car, intending to spy for wildlife, and this young roebuck came out of the woods and grazed its way towards me. Eventually it twigged, but not before it had posed nicely for the camera!

This was my first planned and only second ever star trail. Using the top of the tree to align with the North Star, Polaris, I captured this with my OM-5.I took a few composition test shots first to make sure the frame was good and the exposure was acceptable. Then I just let it roll on 20 second exposures for about 40 minutes. Settings F2.8 iso 1600 at 12mm

We took our son for a late afternoon walk around the flooded fields of Port Meadow, near Wolvercote. As the sun was setting low against the distant hillside I noticed a swan that was in profile against the sunlight reflecting off the water. I adjusted my position so that the reflection of the sun itself was directly behind the subject and waited until it did something interesting. This shot was the most successful of the few that I took and the camera was set to automatic.

After the rain, the city slows down for a moment. Under heavy clouds, the grand dome stands calm and timeless. The wet ground reflects the building like a mirror, creating a beautiful, balanced view.People walk by, busy with their own lives, while the historic architecture remains strong and steady. Warm light gently touches the stone, contrasting with the dark sky. It?s a quiet moment between storm and calm ? where past and present meet in a single reflection.

This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
